How European clusters channel digital transformation
 
The project aims to increase rate of clusters that develop activities to support the transformation towards Industry 4.0
 
The development of INNO Industry will achieve as key outputs a SWOT analysis in 10 EU regions, the identification of at least 30 best practices related with clustering and industry 4.0, one European Blueprint towards clusters 4.0 and 10 action plans to introduce improvements in addressed policy instruments.

SMART INDUSTRY 4.0 IN SLOVENIA

On October 23, 2019, RDA Posavje organised the first regional workshop (out of five) for INNO INDUSTRY stakeholders. The goal of the regional workshop was to establish a contact with stakeholders active in the field of industrial development 4.0 in Slovenian companies and to establish communication between the economic sector and public authorities using clusters.

DIGITALIZATION THROUGH CLUSTERS IN LOWER AUSTRIA

Stakeholders of the Lower Austrian innovation system gathered on 20 November 2019 to discuss the current support for companies in digital transformation in the region. About 20 participants, policy makers, cluster managers, DIH managers, representatives of the regional chamber of commerce and start-up agencies attended the meeting.

ROUNDTABLE WORKSHOP IN PORTUGAL

CIEBI held its 1st RSG meeting/workshop on 28th November, 2019, with 24 participants representing Clusters, University, IAPMEI (governmental agency for economic policies under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy), companies/start-ups, and other entities. The workshop started with a short introduction of the project INNO INDUSTRY, and then, in a roundtable format the guest speakers discussed on various topics related to SWOT analysis dimensions.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF INDUSTRY IN SWEDEN

On december 2:nd 2019 a stakeholder Work Shop with about 15 stakeholders was carried out in North Middle Sweden. In the WS representatives were participating from Universities, Clusters, DIH, Regions and The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth a government agency under the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. The workshop was organized by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.

WORKSHOP AND SURVEY ON INDUSTRY 4.0 IN UK

The UK partners held a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) Workshop on 4th December for industry stakeholders to feedback on the preparedness of the Buckinghamshire economy for Industry 4.0. Seventeen individuals representing key local industries, as well as universities, research centres and local government, used the opportunity to discuss how business clusters can assist industries to prepare for the next industrial revolution.

HUNGARIAN REGIONAL STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP

Westpannon organised the first INNO INDUSTRY stakeholder workshop on 10 December 2019. The workshop event was aimed at connecting external key experts on cluster activity, industry 4.0 and regional development. Around 15 stakeholders attended the event. Working closely together with the Ministry of Finance, they were invited to present both the available and planned calls and funding opportunities for Industry 4.0 within the current funding period.

SWOT ANALYSIS WORKSHOP IN SLOVAKIA

Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the current state of clusters, innovative companies, Industry 4.0 and policies and support available was the main topic of the 1st Regional Stakeholders Workshop organized by SBA. The workshop took place on 11 December 2019 in SBA premises with 19 participating stakeholders including representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency, Union of Slovak Clusters and several private companies.

REGIONAL SWOT ANALYSIS WORKSHOP IN SPAIN

On the 17th of December, AMUEBLA organized a workshop within the INNO Industry project with stakeholders who have contact with Region of Murcia policy in the business field, with special interest in those who have a relationship with digital transformation. The goal for this workshop was to detect improvement areas and best practices, which then will serve as baseline for the Action Plans to be developed within the project.

DIGITALIZATION PROCESSES ANALYSIS IN LATVIA

The first local stakeholder meeting for the Latvian partners brought together relevant representatives from governmental organisations that are in charge of digitalization processes, including ministries, policy implementing agencies etc. There were also leading representatives of the ICT industry – executive director of Latvian ICT cluster, director of Latvian Open Technologies Association etc.

In the frame of the 5th Transylvanian Clusters International Conference, the Romanian Cluster Association - CLUSTERO organised the first INNO INDUSTRY stakeholders’ workshop that brought together around 30 representatives of clusters, local administration, academia and relevant institutions in charge with digital transformation.
