STUDY VISIT IN AUSTRIA: IMPROVING DIGITALISATION SUPPORT THROUGH CLUSTERS
 
During the INNO Industry Interregional Meeting, 50 participants gathered on-site in Krems and online to share inspiring best practices on how to support SMEs in their digital transformation. During the study visit, partners toured the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and the eVRyLab, one of the hubs of the Lower Austrian House of Digitalisation.

E-TOURISM INFO PORTAL
 
E-tourism describes the digitization of processes and value chains to optimize their efficiency and involves e-information, e-booking (hotels, means of transport, etc.) and e-payment. The information posted on the portal contains QR codes, GPS coordinates, digital guides and smart phone applications.

Kickstart is the largest national effort to boost digital skills and utilization of digital technology among SME’s within the manufacturing sector. Kickstart aims to get key representatives in SMEs to understand what digitalization is and what it means for their businesses and start their digitalization towards Industry 4.0.

SMALL-SCALE INCENTIVES FOR SMES
 
The primary purpose of these vouchers is to financially assist SMEs through the co-financing of services in different fields and, consequently, to positively influence the competitiveness and competences of SMEs. What differentiates these incentives from others, is that the costs of external advisors are also covered.

CONGRESS ON ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
 
Aditiva 4.0 aims to boost knowledge about additive manufacturing and to promote the commitment of companies to adapt to the requirements of 4.0 in sectors as diverse as education, health, sports, aerospace and automotive, the agronomy sector, construction or even the so-called fourth sector.

OneTRANSPORT was created as a platform for data, shared among participating government bodies, and bought into by private sector companies, analysts and developers. These groups then use the data to create systems and applications which continually refine and advance transport services throughout the country.

The node operates pre-incubator Propell Innovation to attract innovators within a wide scope. Innovations with extra potential are elevated to regional incubator Movexum. The node operates the digital Innovation hub Fiber Optic Valley for Sustainable Digital Transformation.

SECTOR DRIVEN INNOVATION
 
Project aims to identify and anticipate skills requirements in the respective occupations up to 2030. 24 established SSC are voluntary, independent, professional associations of experts continuously monitoring labour market needs in relevant sectors of the national economy and their transfer to the lifelong learning system.

A smart arena is a meeting place for collaboration between different competences in society, i.e. people from areas such as research, business, the public sector, academia and civil society. Five smart arenas have been developed around five “areas of strengths” that have been identified as having particularly excellent conditions.

HABITAT 4.0 PROJECT
 
The objectives of the project were to know the level of digitalization of the Habitat Sector as a whole, and to define, with objective criteria, the viability of developing projects for the implementation of enabling technologies that allow a company in the sector to reach a level of digitalization that is appropriate to its business strategy.

5G STEP-OUT CENTRE
 
The Digital Innovation Hubs and 5G Step-Out Centre are designed to enable innovative product prototyping in realistic and comprehensive environments. The Step-Out Centre enables the rapid deployment of proof-of-concept prototypes, as well as projects for resilience, security and reliability evaluations into the different network areas involved in the 5G domain.

The purpose is to establish a long-term public-private partnership with a leading stakeholder role in setting up value chains and organizing comprehensive research and RDI support activities aimed at market entry in S4 priority areas. SRIP brings together interested representatives of industry, research organizations, the state and other stakeholders (eg NGOs).
